About the artist:
Gabrielle Moore is an experimental printmaker living on Vancouver Island, primarily working with screen print, inspired by the obtuse, the abstract and the insane. Her work is self-described as “self-deprecating.” Her imagery merges loose line drawings over top of splatter-like marks. Shallow, simple drawings paired with abstract backgrounds, take on a deeper meaning within the viewer. The campy imagery plays across thoughtful colour fields, to explore a whimsical, tirade of experience.
About the studio:
During the 2019 Studio Tour, NIC School of Fine Art & Design will be showcasing the talents of five emerging artists. Exciting and original painting, drawing and mixed media art will be featured in the Shadbolt Studio. A student printmaking exhibit will also be up for display in the Raven Art gallery.
