About the studio:
Ramona Gregory combines function and utility with a modern-rustic aesthetic in her meticulously crafted pottery. Inspired by the biological world, her work is intended to remind us of our connection to the natural environment.
Ramona’s ceramic line, ‘Flora & Fauna’, uses drawings transferred onto a white glaze surface to reference science and ecology. While another line, ‘Dimpled Creatures’, has indentations made from an urchin shell and earthy glazes that layer together to suggest oceans, stones, and landscapes. Ramona is continually testing new forms and different clays and glazes, leading to constant artistic evolution.
Ramona designs her pottery to bring joy into people’s daily rituals and hopes that in the simple gesture of using a hand-made piece of pottery, people will reconnect to their surroundings, their present day, and ultimately their planet.
