Margaret is a therapeutic artist, writer and educator. She operates the Silver Bowerbird Gallery & Studio, facilitates expressive arts workshops, community Pop-Up arts events and art shows. Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media, Margaret explores the intuitive expression of emotion through art. Inspired by nature her art runs the gambit of genre from abstract expressionism to graphic design, small and large pieces, 3D and 2D. This joy of inquiry is reflected in the workshops she offers on a weekly basis. Beginner or professional artist will find inspiration to unlock their creative potential through guided expressive activities. A variety of art inspired by the lives of Canadian and internationally known artists provide jumping off points of expression for the participants. Margaret also enjoys combining poetry with art and has self-published “Raven Meets Wolf” a compilation of works which came out of the CoVid-19 pandemic years of 2020-2021. Her poetry has been included in the Van Isle Poetry Collective Vol. 2, IEATA and CATA journals of Expressive Art Therapy, Quills Journal and on the Lawrence J.W. Cooper website. During April “Poetry & Art – A Happy Couple” will be offered on selected Saturdays. Check the website and Facebook for details. The Gallery permanent installations also include works by James Hay Morris and rotating local artists’ works – Peter Dawson, David Robertson, Loretta Antoine, Lisa Kirk, and others. Installations March through May will reflect Women’s History Month, Creative Therapies Week, Poetry Walk Downtown, Green Banner Studio Tour and the Central Island Arts Tour.
